My blog is an added expression of creating and the story that goes with the projects I create. Sometimes there’s a story for a piece I create and sometimes there’s not a story, hence “a picture is worth a 1,000 words”. I’m a very visual person and I can really get caught up in sharing images and then I’ll pour my heart out with thoughts and stories.
My imagination sets me free to be just who I want to be (or at least to be the person my cat thinks I am!) The name Eclecticat came from my love for “eclectic styles” with the love of my cat, Frankie who always has to be sitting by me (or rather on the project itself) and the 444…. well, that is a two-fold story. 1st Story: While making a project I said, “This is going to be so Eclectic my cat!” and hence Eclectic (CAT) because he was my witness to my “Ah-ha” moment: That’s going to be my name for Instagram. And the 2nd Story: the 444 is an Angel Number, I love these numbers and in the 4th month when I turned 44 I had turning points in my life to choose a path of art because it’s closest to my heart.
Ok, a little background story….I was a psychology major over 20 years ago, but I quit attending college after receiving my Associates Degree to get married and have a family. I have been married for 25 years and I have awesome children and I’m a 9-5 working mom. I am grateful for my career as an Administrative Assistant. I also have a growing passion for illustration, graphic design, typography, paper crafts, card making and other mixed media projects!
I firmly believe we are never too old to learn or become what we want to become and exponential growth comes from a curious mind (though curiosity did kill the cat right?) I value all forms of education especially those gained from experiences and self-teaching. Although I’m not in any formal training I consider myself an avid student and a self-taught artist. My love of Psychology/Self-Development continues to still be a very important part of my life. My passion for reading has been my source of energy for motivation; it continually guides my path. Favorite authors Dr. Wayne W. Dyer, Deepak Chopra, Bruce Lipton, Zig Ziglar and a few more. I concur wholeheartedly with Zig Ziglar’s statement, “I seldom read anything of a factual nature because I want to invest my time wisely in the things that will improve my life.” Novels still have a time and place, but my life perspective has changed immensely.
Faith & Family are very important to me: I have a deep love for my Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ! I hope you enjoy reading my blog and viewing the things I’ve created. To see more of my work visit, Instagram, Behance, Flickr, EyeEm, TSU, Facebook, Pinterest and soon I’ll be on Twitter. I am quickly becoming a social media junkie now!) I’m an all or nothing person so you may see me actively blogging and then I may go away for sometime and then I’ll be back! Thanks for reading my bio, hope it was worth your time!!! Oh, last, but not least….I am a new shop owner of Ecleticat444Decor on the Etsy platform as of November 2015! Please visit my Etsy shop if you would love to purchase eclectic gift items!
